Subramaniam
(“Subby”) D. Rajan is a Professor and Graduate Program Chair in the School of
Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment (one of the five schools in
Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering) at Arizona State University. He has over thirty years
experience in teaching and research in computational and experimental mechanics
involving basic tools such as finite element analysis, advanced experimental
techniques, high-performance software development, materials development and
processing, and design optimization. He has worked as a PI and co-PI in sponsored
research from government agencies such as the National Science Foundation,
NASA, Federal Aviation Administration and the US Army, and from private companies such as Microsoft, Motorola, U-Haul, Salt River Project, Hawthorne & York, Honeywell Engines, etc. He is the Faculty Advisor to the ASU student organization associated with Bridges to Prosperity. His current passion is to get high school and college students involved with various activities associated with sustainable engineering.
